Generic Zithromax is a broad spectrum action bacteriostatic antibiotic which belongs to a group of medicines called macrolides. Action mechanism of associated with inhibiting the protein of the microbial cell. Azithromycin binds to 50S-subunits of the ribosomes, inhibits peptide peptide-translocase on translation stage and inhibits protein synthesis. Before taking generic Zithromax
You should not take generic Zithromax if any of these conditions apply to you:
- Hypersensitivity to azithromycin, other components of them medication, other macrolides
- Severe diseases of the liver and kidney
- Children under 12 years of age with body weight less than 45kg
- Epilepsy
Generic Zithromax should be used with caution in the following conditions:
- Moderate disorders of the liver or kidney diseases
- Patients with arrhythmia or predisposition to arrhythmia
- Prolonged QT interval
- Concomitant use with other medications
Application during pregnancy and breastfeeding:
The medication is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding
How generic Zithromax is taken?
You should take generic Zithromax exactly as indicated by your physician. Do not exceed recommended dosages. Follow the directions of your prescription. There is no standard dose for Azithrothromycin, the dosage is determined in dependence of the severity of the disease and sensitivity of the microorganisms. Generic Zithromax should be taken each day at the same time to maintain the adequate blood levels of the medication.
What should I do if I miss a dose?
You should take the medication as soon as possible. If its already time to your next dose, you should skip the missed dose. Do not take 2 doses at the same time.
What should I do if I overdose?
Seek immediate medical attention if you have taken Azithromycin dosage much higher than recommended. The symptoms of overdose include: nausea, permanent hearing loss, vomiting, diarrhea.
Which generic Zithromax side effect are possible while the treatment?
As with any drug, there are some side effects while may occur while taking generic Zithromax. However, not everyone who takes generic Zithromax will experience side effects. In fact, most patients taking generic Zithromax tolerate it well. During clinical trials there were reported the following generic Zithromax side effects:
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Headache
- Skin rash
In rare cases the medication may cause: kidney dysfunction, constipation, heartburn, vertigo, vaginitis, enterocolitis, hypertension, tinnitus, yeast infection, dehydration, increased photosensibilisation.
