How does Latisse work?

Latisse contains the active ingredient Bimatoprost which is prostaglandin analogue. works by affecting the anagen growth phase of eyelashes. Latisse helps to increase the length of anagen and percentage of hairs in the growth phase.

When Latisse is prescribed?

Before taking Latisse

You should not take Latisse if any of these conditions apply to you:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredient
  • Eye infections

Latisse should be used with caution in the following conditions:

  • Concomitant treatment of elevated intraocular treatment

Application during pregnancy and breastfeeding:

  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

How Latisse is taken?

You should take Latisse exactly as indicated by your physician. Do not exceed recommended dosages. Follow the directions of your prescription. Latisse is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. Do not apply the medication to the lower eyelid.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, dont try to use doubled dose of the medication. Just apply Latisse solution the next evening.

What should I do if I overdose?

In case of overdose burning sensation is possible. Seek immediate medical attention if burning and itching in the eyes occur.

Which Latisse side effect are possible while the treatment?

As with any drug, there are some side effects while may occur while taking Latisse. However, not everyone who takes Latisse will experience side effects. In fact, most patients taking Latisse tolerate it well. During clinical trials there were reported the following Latisse side effects:

  • Itching sensation in the eyes
  • Burning sensation in the eyes
  • Darkening of the skin
  • Eye irritation
  • Dryness of the eyes
  • Redness of the eyelids

This is not a complete list of Latisse side effects. When side effects do occur make sure to inform your health care provider.

Which other medicines can interact with Latisse?

Make sure to inform your health care provide about prescription and over-the-counter medication, herbal supplements, and other medical preparations you are currently taking. Do not begin a new medication without letting your doctor know.

How Latisse should be stored?

Store Latisse solution at 36 to 77F (2 to 25C) at protected from light place out of reach of children.
